Pascale Bigot Original Pastels

Pascale Bigot was born in France and enjoyed drawing from a young age; she studied Architecture and began attending evening classes at ‘Les Beaux Arts’, she then started exhibiting her artwork in 1992 and is yet to stop.  Since moving to England in 1994, with her family, she has developed her own techniques and ideas concerning the use of soft pastels, leaving her artwork to be based on a strong composition, vibrant colours and very contrasting tones.  She also does mixed media, using pastel as a base, and then adding paper, fabric, inks, acrylics, etc… to complement the pastel work. Her subjects are extremely varied, ranging from landscapes to figurative, animal and flowers.

In 2003, her artwork was spotted by Solomon & Whitehead (publisher of David Shepherd and Beryl Cook) who published over 30 of her paintings as limited editions. She has also been included in the ‘Who’s who in Art’ since 2005, as well as her work being present within many private collections in the UK, Europe, USA, Tokyo and Australia, with one painting on show in the Opera House and one in the House of Parliament, in London.  She is also a member of the Birmingham and Midlands Pastel Society.  She began teaching art to adults in 1996, and is still enjoying every minute of it!  She also demonstrates and offers workshops all over the country.

Pascale Bigot uses pastel for her pictures as she blends the colours using her fingertips. Touching and feeling the canvas brings great pleasure to her. She enjoys drawing a wide range of subjects and will tackle anything providing she can transpose it as a simple drawing. Pascale Bigot likes to keep the essence of shape and form and acheives this by simplifying the lines of her drawing. Her technique allows her to draw first and then experiment and play with the colours and tones within her pictures.
